Eau de Cologne
Purposely at the beginning because of its short duration and the low percentage of the fragrant essence within. Cologne water is extremely light, it lasts for only two hours and it contains 2-4 % fragrance essence. Cologne water is perfect for long and hot summer days for its light and refreshing fragrance notes. It can be used on the whole body and it is well known that cologne was used in the past, so it has been mentioned somewhere since the time of Mesopotamia and Egypt.
Eau de Toilette
This fragrant water is placed second. It lasts only 3 hours and it contains about 4-10 % fragrant essence. Eau de toilettes are the perfect choice for everyday usage because they are lighter that perfume waters, but the fragrances last longer and have a stronger scent that cologne waters. Eau de toilettes for men have a bigger percentage of fragrant essence than Eau de toilettes for women.
Eau de Parfum
Perfume waters contain from 10-20 % fragrant extract which makes them last longer with a more intensive fragrance, but they are also a little bit more expensive that the two previous fragrance groups. Considering that the concentration of the fragrant extract is pretty high, it is not for everyday usage, but for special occasions and long nights out. The fragrances of perfume waters can be intense and intoxicating. So if you apply just a few drops, the fragrance can be quite strong. It is because of the combination of fragrance and the perfume water’s essence percentage that they last a couple of hours.
A perfume is diluted in alcohol of the highest quality and its fragrant essence is in concentration up to 30 % the most. The fragrance is strong, intense and it lasts for about 24 hours, so we can conclude that we are talking about the most expensive fragrance from the above mentioned fragrance groups.
